StablesOnline is proud to have a fantastic team of engineering, commercial and support staff who are all committed to providing our clients with a first class product and service.

Mark Tanner – Engineering and Design Director

Mark Tanner – Engineering and Design Director

Mark is in charge of ensuring the StablesOnline products are designed and manufactured to the highest standards.

 

Mark has over 14 years experience in designing and fabricating stables.

 

Mark is also a fully qualified blacksmith and is experienced in structural and ornimental steel and iron work.

 

Mark is an avid surfer and lives in Northam with his fiancé, Sinead.

Simon Oldfield – Fabrication Engineer

Gavin Brooks – Fabrication Engineer

Gavin has been with Plus Retail since the very start and is a skilled fabricator in both steel and polypropolyne.​

Gavin mainly now works making our extensive range of stables, but also fabricates our plastic jump items during busy periods.

Outside of work, Gavin is a retained fire fighter and first aid responder.

Gavin lives in Hatherleigh with his wife Katie and children Jake and Aliyah.

Jamie Tanner -– Fabrication Engineer

Jamie joined StablesOnline in 2013 as an experienced welder/fabricator.

Jamie is responsible for making stables across all our ranges, but specialises in our Premium Range.

Jamie is a keen surfer and lives in Barnstaple.

Phil Johns – Contract Fabrication Engineer

Phil joined StablesOnline in 2015 and is an experienced welder and general engineer.

Phil works for us on a contract basis around other commitments.

Phil lives in Hatherleigh

Rod Milsom-Smith – Fabrication Engineer

Rod has also been with Plus Retail from the start and is now working with us part time to keep him off the golf course full time! Rod helps with fabricating our stable and jump products and also helps out with dispatch and deliveries.

Rod enjoys his golf, gardening and walking his two dogs.

Rod lives in Exbourne with his wife Angie.

Les Tanner – Stuctural and Fabrication Engineer

Les has over 40 years experience in fabrication and structural engineering.

He spent many years fabricating and constructing steel framed buildings all over the U.K.

Les has a reputation for the highest quality handmade gates and railings and is also the owner of Devonshire Wrought Iron.

Les brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to StablesOnline.

Les is a keen fisherman and lives with his partner, Pat in Bradworthy.

Andrew Balsdon – Steel and Plastic Fabrication Engineer

Andrew Balsdon (AJ) joined Plus Retail in 2014 and works across our StablesOnline, HorseMatsPlus and JumpsOnline Divisions

AJ primarily works as a welder producing stable items, jump feet, and jump cups. AJ also is part of the stables installation team.

AJ is also responsible for packing and dispatch for our stable floor products.

AJ lives in Okehampton and is a WWF Wrestling fanatic!

James Mansfield – Dispatch Supervisor and Stable Installer

James joined us in 2016 and is responsible for preparing all stables for dispatch and carrying out many of our stable installations.

James is a Scout Leader and keen kayaker.

James lives in North Tawton with his wife Sandra and children Deanna, Jade and Taylor.

Simon Oldfield – Fabrication Engineer

Luke Reynolds – Plastic Fabrication Supervisor and Engineer

Luke joined Plus Retail in 2013 and had progressed to become the supervisor in our jumps Division.

Luke is mainly responsible for fabricating the different jumps elements, quality control and general management of the order process

Luke is a keen footballer and lives in Hatherleigh.

Liam Goodall – Factory Operative and Stable Installer

Liam joined Plus Retail in 2016 and splits his time across the JumpsOnline and StablesOnline Divisions.

Liam primarily constructs and assembles our jump products, but is also part of our onsite stables installation team.

Liam lives near Okehampton and enjoys golf

Paul Penberthy – Factory Operative

Paul joined Plus Retail in 2016 and is responsible for manufacturing, packing and dispatching our show jump products.

Paul lives in Hatherleigh and is a keen Cricketer and Footballer.

Mel Illman – Customer Service and Operations Manager

Mel is responsible for customer service and operations within all the Plus Retail Divisions.

Mel is also the overall manager of the JumpsOnline division.

Mel is responsible for sales, dispatch, manufacturing logistics, HR, purchasing and general office management! She is therefore quite busy!!

Mel also works part-time is her sister’s pub where she can be found pulling many a pint!

Mel lives in North Tawton with her partner Ian, Cat Smudge and two lop-eared Rabbits!

Abi Bourne – Customer Services and Sales

Abi joined Plus Retail in 2013 and is now (alongside Mel) responsible for customer service, sales and logistics across all our 4 Divisions.

Abi manages the Horse Mats Division and is the first point of contact for all mat quotes.

If you have any product queries or need to track your order, thenAbi is the first port of call!

Abi is an equestrian enthusiast and works part time for the ASH Stud on the weekends.

Abi lives in Broadwoodkelly with her boyfriend Rob and their puppy Freddie, Merlin her horse, a harem of chickens and Ziggy the cat!

Alison Reed – Accounts Manager

Alison joined Plus Retail in 2013 as our account manager.

Alison makes sure all our suppliers get paid and also everyone pays us!

Alison is a fully qualified and practising Vet, but gets her numerical fix at Plus Retail one day per week.

Alison lives with her Husband Darren and boys Leo and Seb on their farm in Broadwoodkelly

Harry Sibcy – Head of Legacy Planning!

Harry has made a real impact since joining Plus Retail Ltd in 2011.

He is very good at keeping the Managing Director on his toes and has already created a road map for the transition of control to him in 20 years time!

Harry runs Bude Farm with skill beyond his years and is very strict with his four legged friends Spritzer (dog), Charles (pig), Camila (pig), Alfie, Tikka, Betty Boo, LuLu and Sandy (cats)!

Oliver Sibcy – Head of Tiny Transport and Logistics

Oliver is the latest family addition at Plus Retail. He joined us in 2013 and can regularly be seen fighting for control with the ‘Head of Legacy Planning’!

His obsession with Tractors, Diggers and Lorries has made him an excellent choice for Transport Logistics.

Shouna Sibcy – H.R. and Purchasing Director

Shouna has recently returned to work part-time after the birth of the Head of Legacy Planning below!

Shouna is a joint shareholder, company secretary and responsible for H.R. and Purchasing.

Shouna has a real passion for horses and enjoys eventing her main horse Rio. Shouna also runs a small livery yard at Bude Farm Equestrian.

Jim Sibcy – Managing Director

Jim set up Plus Retail Ltd to merge a number of equestrian manufacturing and retail companies that now form the 4 divisions.

Before this, Jim spent 8 years in London in commercial and managing director roles within the TV Production and Satellite TV Channel sector.

On moving to Devon in 2007, he initially launched and developed the JumpsOnline business before starting the other divisions to offer a unique and comprehensive range of products to a loyal and growing customer base.

Jim is very hands on with the StableOnline Division and enjoys leading the stable projects from initial sales to manufacture and then to installation

Spritzer – Security and Debt Collection

On the rare occasion that security is required, Spritzer is guaranteed to sort out any trouble!

Spritzer is also responsible for debt collection. Her tactic of licking any debtor very hard has remarkably impressive results.

Ouside work, Spritzer enjoys walking with her buddies and clearing up any food waste from the Head of Legacy Planning!

Freddie – Principal Demolition Expert and Odour Creator

Freddie can most often be found chewing through wires, munching invoices or trying to pinch everyone else’s lunch. Given the challenge, Freddie will destroy almost anything!

Freddie is also in charge of wind and odour creation and regularly makes sure the office staff test their gas masks.

Steve Sims – Web & SEO

Steve joined us in November 2016 to work on our websites. He is an experienced wordpress developer and lives in North Devon.
